The river cruise in Yanagawa is close by, and there’s parking at the hotel. Staff speak English well, and there’s a public bath too. I booked through klook, so check whether your plan includes kaiseki. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to find dinner elsewhere.

The hot springs were a lovely way to recharge, and the whole place felt calm and comfortable. The staff were friendly and kind. I’d especially recommend trying breakfast.

The kaiseki dinner was a highlight, especially the steamed eel on rice, with the eel charred. Our family of four was upgraded to the largest tatami room, which had a Jacuzzi onsen. The staff did all they could to help, even with their limited English vocabulary.

The hotel is in a quiet area, with a large parking lot, and the garden view, room quality, and breakfast were fantastic. The staff were friendly to foreign guests. Just be aware there aren’t many restaurants open nearby at night.

Yanagawa is a pleasant area, and I’m thinking of coming back in another season. I found the room view really relaxing, and the hot spring was excellent for unwinding. Staff were kind from check-in through check-out and answered all my questions about nearby sights.
