About a 12-minute walk from Yanagawa station, this is the only ryokan within walking distance, so it’s a good choice if you want that kind of stay. It’s a clean, quaint old house, so don’t expect a modern hotel, but there’s WiFi and an amazing breakfast. The host was very kind, offered us a calligraphy experience, and even gave us a lift to the station.

The host was wonderful and really helped us with things. We were there with our girls and felt comfortable and welcome, and it was very family-friendly. The room was spacious, the food was amazing, and this was one of the best Ryokan experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend!

We’re so glad we found this place. The host went out of her way to help us explore town and get the most from our visit. Our room was really comfortable, and breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, with a great version for the kids. The dining room was lovely too, decorated with the season’s Hina presentation.

A rustic home with a friendly owner and a generous breakfast spread. Just be aware that the toilet and shower are shared.

We’re a Korean couple who checked out today. The place is old, but it’s kept clean, and the owner made us feel incredibly welcome. The breakfast was especially delicious, better than at any other ryokan I’ve stayed in, and we loved the jazz music too. We were so disappointed that our flight meant we couldn’t take the calligraphy class. I hope lots of people get to enjoy it.
