Shinohara Hotel Hamazen

Shinohara Hotel is a long-established hotel in Hinagu Onsen, so I feel confident staying here. It's good value, and the food is excellent. The paid drinks come in a wide selection, including draft and bottled beer, Kyushu-produced sake, and carefully selected shochu by the glass or bottle. Wine is available too. The waitresses are cheerful and energetic, which is nice. Parking is beside the hotel. It's a five-story building with an elevator. The dining area is on the second floor, with tables arranged above a large hall. The large public bath and sauna are on the fifth floor and open until 10 PM. Banpei-yu, the day-trip hot spring, is a one-minute walk away. I'm in the area to visit a grave, and maybe I'll make this my regular hotel.

I've stayed here twice now, and this time I upgraded my room, which made for a luxurious meal. Even so, it was under 10,000 yen per person for the night, with two meals included. My mother needs a bed, so they added an extra one and the three of us stayed in a Western-style room. The hot springs are fantastic. It's a small, rustic hotel, and I love it.

The meals were filling and delicious. The rooms have an old-fashioned style, and while the toilet and washroom were clean, there was no bath or shower in the room. Guests need to use the large public bath. My only complaint is that there are no hairdryers in the rooms, and just one in the large bath.

I stayed here for business for the second time. It's an older hotel, but the bathrooms and other facilities are clean. The spacious room and hot spring bath are great when traveling alone, and I liked having a leisurely breakfast too. The facilities are worth the price.
