Hilton Yokohama

The building and facilities are still relatively new and well maintained, and the area is on the quieter side. Breakfast was just alright. There could be more variety, and the quality was only okay compared with other Hilton hotels I visited in Japan on this long holiday. The eggs Benedict was the one highlight. For guests whose booking doesn't include breakfast, restaurant staff bring the bill soon after you sit down and ask you to check it. Some days they came back to ask if we were ready to pay. They seemed worried guests might leave without paying. They did the same with other customers, so it wasn't just us. Maybe I caused confusion one day by paying at the cashier near the entrance midway through the meal instead of when we left. At the end, a male staff member looked horrified and hurried to check with colleagues whether the bill had been settled. Full marks for his dedication to work. Parking uses a mechanical lift garage, so expect a wait to get your car back. The staff attitude was okay, though I found them less friendly than at other hotels, even though it wasn't very busy. A number of staff were stationed around check-in, but sometimes, when nobody needed help, they looked busy and focused on their screens as I passed toward the lifts. There seemed to be too many people around the counter and only one at the hotel drive-through/drop-off point. The English-Japanese-speaking woman working alone at drop-off on the afternoon of 25 Nov’25 was exceptional. Well done.

We felt welcomed as returning guests when staff already knew this was our second visit. The service throughout was thoughtful and high quality, and I really enjoyed the stay. Arriving was easy too: I could check in early at the Executive Lounge and settle in smoothly. The lounge's truffle oil French fries were delicious, and I liked the wide range of distinctive local sodas. Breakfast was another treat, especially the two kinds of dashi and the traditional Osechi dishes, which let me celebrate New Year in a memorable way. Late check-out wasn't available because there was an event at K-Arena, though perhaps it would have been possible on a day without one. We already had plans, so that didn't affect us. After checking out, we could still have snacks and a generous selection of drinks from the lounge refrigerator, which kept us satisfied until the end. I'd gladly return to Hilton Yokohama.

We arrived early for an overnight stay before a cruise, and the team managed to check us in at 11.30, which was great. The room was spacious and well appointed, and the staff were very helpful. It's near a local train and a supermarket. A wonderful Hilton property, highly recommended.

I've stayed here three times and have always felt comfortable. The rooms are very good, and the hotel is still relatively new. Staff inside are friendly and helpful, and they serve with enthusiasm. It's surrounded by office towers, so it seems well suited to business trips or people going to a concert at Arena. For tourists, the location may be a little inconvenient because the nearby stations take a bit of walking to reach. I'd recommend it to travelers looking for a retreat.
