Cheap price and good service at the front desk. The soundproofing is basically zero, and some things in the room were broken. The toilet water didn’t run properly.

The receptionist was very kind, and the hotel even took in my luggage a day early after the airport failed to deliver it on time. My room was nice and pretty clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure and very hot water. Standard amenities were provided, and there’s a washer and dryer in the hotel. The neighborhood was quiet, and I’d come back if I were in the area. I travelled alone as a woman and felt safe. There is a red light district nearby, as others mentioned, but you can avoid it by using the entrance on the same block as the 711 and McDonald’s.

There’s a self-service washer and dryer. Soap costs 50jpy at reception if you need it, and the machines take 100jpy coins. A normal load washed and dried comes to about 400-500. My eighth-floor room seemed recently renovated and was quite spacious compared with rooms at competing chains. The hotel was quiet, the staff were great, and they had translated information sheets for things that might not be obvious to non-Japanese speakers. A walking shopping and restaurant street is right outside, and two stations are about 9 minutes away on foot. Chinatown is roughly 25 minutes away walking. A couple of small drawbacks: there was no in-room safe, and the room key is a physical key. Reception is on the second floor, and there are two entrances. If you come in on the wrong side, it can be confusing, since the directions to reception are only posted on the walking street side. Enter there. If I’m back in Yokohama, I’d stay again. The staff accommodation is very good, and the rooms have nice beds and amazing pillows, comfortable for one night or several. The rent is cheap, and the location is really quiet, with lots of entertainment and things to do nearby. Plenty of options for a good time.
