Hotel Plumm

The room was spotless, and the public bath is spacious. The staff were very helpful, communication was great, and they replied quickly. It’s an easy 8-minute walk from the station. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Yokohama.

I loved the calming, fragrant smell in the lobby. The double room was clean, roomy, and affordable compared with other hotels. There are about four convenience stores close by, though it’s roughly a 12-minute walk to the main station.

They wouldn’t let me use their landline to call Agoda’s local Japan support, so I had to pay extra for IDD calls to sort out their mistake. The supervisor also stayed out of sight and left the front desk clerk to deal with me. I ended up booking another hotel during peak season, which cost USD 200 more than my confirmed reservation. I’d confirmed that reservation with them 11 times through Agoda’s messaging system, but they still refused to honor it. They said the hotel messaging system had glitched. The whole thing felt disgraceful, with no sense of honor, integrity, or accountability, and the customer service was shockingly bad. It was a terrible reflection on what I expected from Japanese hospitality. Avoid this property and book elsewhere. Very dishonorable.

Hotel Plumm was in a quieter neighborhood, but it was easy to get to the busy shopping area around Yokohama station. For late-night food, 7-11, Family mart, and Lawson are all nearby, and Starbucks and Sukiya are a short distance away. I just finished a 3-night stay in a clean, well-lit Twin Delux Room with plenty of space for three people by Japan standards. The location worked really well. I’d definitely recommend it.
