The separate entrances to the bunks gave me more personal space than I expected, and there was a lockable cupboard that fit my carry-on. The chain for a padlock was too short for a standard checked bag. A small fold-out table had pulled away from the wall, and other parts of the bed were coming apart. I knew there was no Wi-Fi and few facilities when I booked, but the lack of Wi-Fi still feels unusual for Japan. I ended up here on New Year's Eve because there wasn't much else available, and it worked for what I needed. I'm not really unhappy with the stay, but I'd choose somewhere else if I had the option. The price doesn't match the facilities, and the broken table kept me from giving it three stars.

The riverside spot is lovely, with train stations close by. It was creaky and pretty basic, just as I expected, and booking through Airbnb was a lot cheaper for some reason. If you stay here, go to 7artscafe :)

The place was clean and tidy, as I've found with the other Japanese hostels and hotels I've stayed at. The rooms felt quite stuffy, though, and there was no Wi-Fi. I was okay with the stay, but I don't think I'll book it again.

Loved it ❤️ The host was friendly, the room was nice, and the hostel felt quiet and peaceful. There were lots of stores in the area too.
