Citadines Harbour Front Yokohama

I gave it 87/100: the room scored 21/25, the lobby 14/15, features 7/10, accommodations 5/5, daily experience 5/5, privacy 4/4, view 3/3, price and service 9/10, room spaciousness 2/2, decoration and atmosphere 16/20, and lobby spaciousness 1/1, with no bonus or deductions. The room is big and has plenty of furnishings and nice bathrooms. There’s lots of lobby space, bathrooms, free tea, and a kitchen. Free lemonade is available too. If you had to stay in the hotel every day with meals and drinks, you could cook and watch TV, among other things. Privacy gets a good score for the three bathrooms and easy-to-use lock, and the view is nice. The price is very cheap and service is good. The decor feels modern, with lots of marble details, though the gray walls could use a little extra touch. The atmosphere is decent. My scale puts 2 stars at 25 points, 3 at 50, 4 at 75, and 5 at 90.

We liked the quiet business-district feel, and it was an easy 10-minute walk to Chinatown. The train station is right beside the hotel with direct access. We were celebrating our anniversary, and they kindly upgraded us to a room overlooking the harbourfront. The room was new and extremely clean, and housekeeping kept it clean and stocked throughout our stay. Reception staff were helpful, spoke English fluently, and helped us rent a car. The kitchenette was a lovely extra, with utensils for quick cooking plus a fridge, freezer, microwave, and oven. We’d definitely stay again.

The studio twin was great, and big! Airi and Aung were professional, warm, and attentive throughout our stay. Aung especially went the extra mile and personally helped carry all 11 pieces of our luggage. We really appreciated that effort. They don’t accept tips because of cultural practices, but I hope Citadines recognizes what a valuable part of the team they are. Their initiative and genuine hospitality made our stay much better. The location is superb, right by Nihonodori train station, with lots of cafes nearby and the harbour within walking distance. The room was clean and just about okay for three people, though a little extra space would have helped. Sadly, there’s no Netflix on the TV. A four-star experience overall.
