Mitsui Garden Hotel Yokohama MM Premier

We paid for a room for 3 and stayed 7 nights, but it felt far too cramped. Several large partitions took up space without being usable, and the bathtub occupies about 2/3 of the inside, leaving you to change outside. The room they gave us also had no privacy: people waiting by the lift lobby could see inside when the door opened, and anyone standing at the lobby viewing area could see directly into the room at night if we were near the windows. There was only one tiny dustbin, and housekeeping wouldn't remove anything that didn't fit in it. Irritating. We'd spent 6 nights at another 5 star hotel before moving here, where the space, comfort, and location were amazing. This place looks okay and might work for 2 people at most, but certainly not in the room we were assigned. Very disappointed. Never coming back.

The people are what made this place great. The front counter team made the stay wonderful, and the Evolta staff worked hard to keep breakfast organized through the hungry, hurried rush. The food was good and tasty, but the menu didn't change while I was there, with scrambled eggs every day, so I wouldn't recommend going more than twice. I was in town for a conference at the Pacifico, and the location was a struggle in the cold. It's a long walk to sakuragicho, and I found myself wondering if I should have booked the bay hotel or intercontinental instead. It would be better if the hotel were on top of Markis mall, by Minatomirai station. We also didn't get to see Fuji-san. The front desk team has me considering the branches in Kyoto and Osaka for future trips.

The rooms feel clean and modern, and the staff are very polite, greeting you whenever they see you. Breakfast is decent, with a wide intercontinental buffet-style spread. There's a shopping mall nearby, and the train station is about a 10-minute walk away.

The staff were the best part of this stay, and the cleanliness was exceptional. The lobby floor was grand, immaculate, and beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows and an incredible view. The Minatomiarai area location is great, with everything close by. Check-in initially went well, and we had high expectations after being impressed by the Mitsui Gardens Toyosu Premier. Then we got to the room. It smelled like dry pipes, and running the water didn't fix it. Reception moved us to another room, where the same smell was there, though less strong. The rooms were tiny and felt like a caravan. There wasn't a separate bathroom, just a toilet cubicle and a shower/bath cubicle, with the vanity in the main area. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows felt like they had beanbag beans inside. We were disappointed.
