I enjoyed my four nights at Yuyuki condos. I needed somewhere near English Empire Divers in Yomitan, and the condos were about a 20-minute walk away. The dive shop can also pick you up. The reviews were already good, and after staying there I can add my own positive one. The owners have thought through a lot of the practical details. The units are spacious and very clean, with WIFI, a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, cooker, and a washer and dryer in each unit. The WIFI could be faster. The heating and cooling AC both worked well. I liked sleeping with the windows open, but I'm a light sleeper and needed earplugs because the main road through Yomitan is close to the bedroom windows. Yomitan is quiet, so traffic isn't heavy, but you can hear that it exists. The couch was the one uncomfortable thing. Without a car, getting here takes about an hour by taxi from the airport, and calling a ride share can be difficult because it's a bit remote. The owner has listed a taxi number to call, shown in the photo. This is a quiet, pleasant suburb with sugar cane fields, a coastal walk, and horse back riding, though there isn't a lot to see nearby. There's a large supermarket, but not many restaurants within walking distance, especially for vegetarians. The Mexican place across the road was average and only had meat or shrimp burritos. A few izakayas just steps from the condos serve delicious Okinawan tofu, including the peanut kind. Nukumi Good Burrito is another Mexican place, but a good one, and it caters to vegetarians. It became my usual spot, about a 20-minute walk away with a sea view. I only met the owner when he came out to thank me and bowed as I got into my taxis. He replied quickly when I messaged 24 hours before my stay to ask for my unit's PIN code. I contacted him through the Agoda message app, and I've posted a photo of his email address. You fill out the registration card at the desk in your unit. If you've arranged with him to arrive before check-in, you leave the extra fee on the desk. The process was easy, though there's nowhere to leave luggage. The condos are on two floors with no lift. If you have mobility issues or a heavy dive bag, I'd suggest asking the owner for a 1st floor unit, which is only about five steps up. While staying at Yuyuki, consider visiting Yuntanza Museum and Zakimi castle ruins, about a 30-minute walk away, as well as Yachimun no Sato kiln and Chibichirigama cave, where many Okinawans commited mass suicide after the Americans landed on Okinawa.

The manager kindly lent us an extra blanket when we got cold. It was quiet at night and easy to get a good rest, and the place was clean, simple, and well maintained. Each unit also has its own washer and dryer, which I really liked.

There’s free parking and a nice supermarket nearby. The place was clean, comfortable, and well located, so I’m glad I chose it.
