Kaike Grand Hotel Tensui

The outdoor bath was a real highlight, with a view over Miho Bay, and the onsen was marvelous. I was here for a bōnenkai party at the end of 2016, and the hotel made a strong impression. There was an interesting bamboo display by the foyer, the facilities were top notch, and the banquet hall was in good order. The food was excellent, especially the snow crab, which was in season then. I’d definitely consider staying again.

I came for a year-end trip and found the plan reasonable. My second-floor room didn’t have much of a view, but the hotel still felt comforting and familiar. It was much as I remembered it from my previous stay seven years ago, with that nostalgic atmosphere. I’m glad to see places like the souvenir shops and game centers, even if they’re retro, since so many hotels these days have been renovated from apartment buildings. The bath was easy to use, with a large washing area and a floor that wasn’t slippery, so I could walk safely. The hot spring temperature felt just right, and the air conditioning was low, which made it relaxing to soak. I didn’t see lockers or locks in the changing rooms, so be careful with valuables.
