The view from our room and the amenities were even better than we expected, and the food was unbelievable. We had such a lovely stay, thanks especially to the kindest hotel staff we’ve come across this holiday. Thank you for making it so memorable x

The hotel is high up on the mountain, and the staff were lovely and very helpful. They picked us up from the station and dropped us back there, and the meals were delicious.

The staff were amazing about our group’s food needs. We had two vegans and one Gluten free traveller, and they did everything they could so we could all eat well. Email them in advance for the best options around dietary requirements. The rooms are a little worn, but they’re spacious and comfortable, with a fabulous view across the valley. Being at the top of a steep street is what gives you those views, so enjoy the cardio ;) There’s a shuttle bus, and you can call when you reach the station for pickup or let them know ahead of time when your train arrives. I’d love to come back on a weekday to miss the weekend crowds.

We arrived late for New Year’s, but they called a local restaurant and got it opened just for us. They looked after us so well and served a traditional Japanese breakfast. The mountain was quiet and beautiful, and there were no tourists around while we were there. A perfect spot.
