A beautifully renovated traditional Japanese house, cozy and comfortable. The owner was very nice and the staff attentive. The bathroom and kitchen are shared.

The hosts' warm welcome stood out, and being surrounded by so much nature made the stay feel restorative. This old house in Yoshino, Nara, is more than a hundred years old. Its wooden warmth and sense of history create a calm atmosphere, almost as if time had slowed down. The old-fashioned shoji and scent of tatami were lovely, and helped me forget the noise and bustle of the city. Staying in this old home, surrounded by history and nature, was a rare chance to refresh both mind and body. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to take it easy and experience Japan's original rural scenery.

The guesthouse is in a traditional Japanese home more than 100 years old. Its owner fell in love with Yoshino and moved there. The building has been renovated for comfort, while keeping the original design of the beams and fixtures. I felt relaxed, almost as if I were at home, in the clean, tasteful space, which reflects the owner's affection for the house. It's a great choice if you want to mix with local people and get a sense of what it's like to live there.

I felt like I'd stepped back in time in this warm, nostalgic place, much like staying at my grandmother's house in the countryside. The atmosphere fits right in with Yoshino's charming streets, and I felt relaxed there. The bathrooms were clean and easy to use, and the old-fashioned house combined with modern comforts was really soothing. I'd definitely like to come back.
