Yumoto Hounoya

The food is really good for what you pay, and the staff are very friendly with good service. It's a nice little ryokan with a great price. My only complaint is that the onsen closes too early.

I went for a solo walk around Yoshino in summer, then stopped by a day-trip hot spring that evening. Even though I was only there to use the baths, everyone treated me kindly. I seemed to have picked just the right time, because there were no other customers. The open-air bath, surrounded by fresh greenery, was all mine. Amazing! Yoshino is lovely in summer too, with all that greenery, not just for cherry blossoms or autumn leaves. They provided all the amenities, so there's no need to bring shampoo and things. I'll definitely go again!

I'd never been to Yoshino before, and went to the hot spring for a day trip without expecting much. It turned out to be wonderful, and now I'm a big fan. The inn is small, but the changing room was clean and I really enjoyed both the cozy indoor bath and the open-air one, where I could admire the lush mountain greenery all to myself. It might be too crowded during cherry blossom season, but I'd love to see what each season feels like.
