We woke up to snow, which felt magical, and were greeted by a really lovely fluffy friend. The scenic onsen sits in a natural setting, and the room was charming and very well maintained. They even drove us to the station with our luggage. Such a lovely place to stay, highly recommend!!

A really comfortable place to enjoy the hot spring. The maple trees are so beautiful this time of year.

We got to use the family bath without paying extra. They showed us to our assigned bath and then to our room. We could use it anytime that day and again the next morning, and there was also an outdoor bath option. Check-in took me a while because I parked by the private onsen and mistook the small reception building, which looked like a ticket office, for a tourist information counter. The accommodation is on the right when driving in, and the private onsen is on the left. I wandered around looking for a check-in counter inside the accommodation, while the staff was trying to direct me to the small building. I thought he worked for another business, but eventually figured it out. Parking is free. The staff were friendly and helpful, though they don't speak English, so we used a translator app. I liked this place a lot. I'd stayed in the Beppu area before coming to Yufuin, and I felt the onsen here was better, though that may just be personal preference. The water seemed to have more minerals, and our skin felt smoother afterward. I didn't get the same effect at Beppu, comparing with the footbath at the hells of Beppu and my stay at one of the ryokans there. It was also much less crowded than Beppu's onsens, though I checked in on a Monday.

Hi, I'm looking to book a room. Are all the rooms accessible only by stairs, with no elevator?

I had high hopes for this onsen, but the men's day-use bath was filthy. They sent someone to clean it, but by then it was too late. I showered and left. I couldn't bathe with dead flies and mosquitoes around, and the water filter was clogged with leaves and insects.
