The private onsen was a highlight for our whole family. Soaking in the hot spring with nature around us was relaxing for both the adults and kids. We also enjoyed the kaiseki meals at dinner and breakfast, which featured fresh local ingredients and a good range of flavors. Our room was spacious, clean, and traditionally designed, with plenty of room for the family. The peaceful setting in Yufuin gave Yufu no Oyado Hotaru an authentic Japanese feel and helped us settle in right away. The staff were warm and attentive, and took care of little details that made things easier for us. It was a memorable, comfortable stay with a lot of cultural charm, and a lovely part of our trip.

The food was good, though the rooms seemed a bit old. A nice inn.

Dinner and breakfast were both nice, and the staff spoke English really well, so we could relax without any trouble. Each room has its own private bath pool, as shown in the picture. You can choose a bedroom or a tatami room, and reserve the price too. It’s a very comfortable place with excellent service. Recommend.
