Yufuin Onsen Iyashi no Sato Kanputei

I only wish I’d booked a longer stay. The hotel is small and private, with a modern feel alongside traditional touches, and it completely blew me away. The room’s onsen has electric shutters that shift it from outdoors to indoors, and back, in an instant. The food was amazing, and there’s also a public outdoor foot onsen with unlimited Kirin draft beer. I’ll definitely come again.

This was my favorite experience of the whole Kyushu trip. The hotel had everything I wanted: a clean, nicely sized room with its own onsen bath, plus a public bath you can reserve. The location was just the right distance from the center for me, neither too close nor too far. Both meals were excellent in quality and quantity. The sashimi, steak, and grilled fish were among my best meals of the trip. I slept really well in the cozy bed, and I’d recommend this place to anyone.

We were touched by a small surprise at checkout: someone had taken a photo during our meal, then given us a printed copy in a folder. We really appreciated the service and meals throughout our stay. The indoor hot spring had an impressive view, and the room had a high ceiling and comfortable modern beds. Dinner and breakfast exceeded our expectations, with delicate appetizers and mouthwatering beef shabu shabu. This place deserves its five stars.

The service and food were amazing, and having a private onsen in each room was a real treat.
