I loved the traditional feel of this onsen inn in the Yufuin area, especially the heritage surroundings, with trees and beautifully cared-for greenery all around. The service was attentive and caring. Each room has its own bath, and there’s also a boutique public bath with indoor and outdoor sections. The onsen water was very good, and soaking in the hot bath while birds chirped now and then left me feeling so relaxed. We loved the traditional Japanese meals too. This is one of the best onsen inns I’ve visited, and I’ll definitely come back ❤️

The private onsen and dinner were highlights of our stay. The hotel is a cozy little nook, a peaceful place in nature that can fit a small family. Sato Miyo was our dinner waitress on both nights. She was warm and kind about our needs, and her smile and chats made the meals feel special. The hotel is close to the lake, and a morning walk there is relaxing, with some steam rising from the water. Our stay was very comfortable and the service was spectacular. We’d love to return soon. The meals were beautiful to look at and delicious, and the whole stay felt memorable. I also really liked the quiet setting and the calm, refined service. The small number of independent ryokan studios gave the place a nice feel.

We stopped in for coffee and cake, not an overnight stay, so I can't say what the place itself is like. The staff were polite and the service was good. Coffee was okay, and the cheesecake was good.
