Hotel Route-Inn Yuuki

A clean, contemporary room and courteous staff made for an easy stay at this reliably good chain hotel. Just keep in mind that this location is a bit farther from the station than Route Inn hotels usually are, especially if you’re walking with suitcases.

I stayed for a month and enjoyed it. The rooms were tidy and clean, there’s free Wi-Fi, and all the staff were friendly and gave 100% service. The rates are great, too. The one disappointment was not being allowed to use the onsen baths because of my tattoos. I understand Japan has a no-tattoo policy, but I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. I stayed a few times in 2016 and 2017. The bed was a comfortable queen, though the room was barely bigger than the bed, with just enough space for a slim desk and TV. The bathroom was a little cramped but had a bathtub. Some weekends, local and overseas tour groups were staying there too.

The room and bathroom were small but efficient. The bed was like sleeping on the floor, and the hotel smelled of cigarettes. The buffet was hard for me to find anything to eat. A taxi from the JR station cost $30. There’s a restaurant, free Wi-Fi, and a bath house with one large tub and a shower area. The onsen wasn’t impressive, but at least it was there. I saw a few family groups with kids. Price-wise, it’s between a hostel and a good hotel.
