Yokohama Mandarin Hotel

I stayed for one night before flying home. From Hinodechō station, you can walk to the hotel. Check-in and check-out are self-service, and checking out just means dropping your card into the machine. If you’re unsure about checking in, staff can show you how to use it. They have tea, coffee, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, and, if I remember right, body towels. There’s a convenience store not too far away. There’s a bathtub too, which was nice for relaxing.

The room was spacious, clean, and well kept, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The plumbing worked perfectly, including in the restrooms. Reception staff were especially welcoming, and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed staying here.

There are several restaurants and a Lawson's nearby, and most of the front desk attendants speak English. The service was great and accommodating, and there’s a good range of services on the first floor. I didn’t run into any major problems, though a few things are worth knowing. As of August 2025, only one elevator was working. At least the workers let guests ride alone, so the trip up or down can be quicker. Our non-smoking room had a slight smoke smell. You can’t shower in the bathtub, so you have to stand beside it, and it’s awkward figuring out where to put your next clothes so they don’t get wet. There are also very few extra pillows for guests who ask for them.

The rooms are very spacious, and the hotel is just a few minutes on foot from Hinadecho Station, one stop from Yokohama Station on the KeiKyu Line. There’s a laundry area, a microwave for food, and vending machines with drinks and food if you don’t feel like going out. The staff speak English, which made things easier for us as foreigners enjoying Japan. They were very welcoming and accommodating.
