The staff speak English well and were super helpful, which made everything easier. Dinner and breakfast were Japanese-style, and the accommodation was affordable. Bathrooms and toilets are shared, but everything is very clean. The ski lifts are less than a 10-minute walk away, and the bus stop to and from Echigo is also about 10 minutes on foot.

The apartment was clean and tidy, with a large equipment storage room and plenty of space in the room for two people. Breakfast was tasty, and the staff were nice and helpful. For snow sports, it’s well placed: the bus station is a five-minute walk and has access to Kagura and Tashiro. I’d come back if I visit Naeba again. And the dog, magi, is super cute.

For 12000yen a night, you could do worse. The rooms are clean, but bathrooms are shared, so don’t expect luxury. The building could use renovations, and the TVs are absurdly old, coin-operated sets. The "hot spring" in the basement wasn’t great, though at least it’s there. Its hours are odd, which didn’t bother me but might be an issue for you.
