We’d stayed here once before, and coming back after 10 years was just as lovely. It’s tucked into a quiet spot, only a few minutes on foot from the port and very close to the supermarket. Our traditional room with futon beds was comfortable, and breakfast was a very good Japanese-style meal. Some of the staff speak fluent English, which made it easy to get the information we needed. I’d definitely recommend it.

Takatsuki made our three-night stay really enjoyable. Sushi met us at the ferry port, brought our bags to the room, and explained what we might need to know about the island. The family room was roomy enough for us and comfortable, and everything in the guest house was very clean. Towels were changed daily. There was an air conditioner, TV, and toilet in our room, plus laundry facilities and places to hang clothes on the third floor. On the second floor we could rinse wetsuits and swimming gear and hang them up too. The price seemed reasonable, and we could barely hear the school across the street. Shops are a minute away, the port is a five-minute walk, and the beach for snorkeling among turtles, fish, and coral reefs is 20 minutes away. After checkout, Sushi kindly let us shower and change. We had a very nice stay and highly recommend it.

Dinner was a highlight, a well-prepared Japanese-style meal. Our room was fine, with a TV and air conditioning, and I had no complaints about the stay. The host spoke English fairly well and was very helpful, even giving us a map of restaurants and shops. The village is tiny, so it’s easy enough to find your way around anyway.
