The rooms, which are actually spacious, renovated tents, were redone this year and have air conditioning and private balconies. They’re comfortable and cool, with a very nice bar on site. We saw elephants from our balcony, and the views and game drives were great, with so many animals despite it being off season. John Kaelo is a talented guide and a wonderful person, and the sundowners in the bush were super cool. The service felt incredibly warm and personal, and the staff were great. Try everything Chef Eddie makes, and don’t miss a chance to get his cookbooks from the on-property shop. Such a special, unforgettable stay.

Betty made every game drive special. She knew where to look, spotted an incredible range of wildlife, and explained animal behavior, habitats, and conservation in a way that kept us interested. Elvis, the trainee guide, also shared wonderful Masai stories with us. At Mahali Mzuri, the whole team made us feel welcome and looked after, with a warm family atmosphere alongside a high standard of comfort and service. It was a memorable stay, and we can’t wait to return. Elena & Simona

It was hard to leave. The game drives were unforgettable, and the staff were wonderful. There’s a spa, a pool, an open bar, and even a clinic if you get sick. What a phenomenal experience.

Within 24 hours at Mahali Mzuri, we’d seen all of the Big 5, including a pride finishing off a water buffalo. Our guide John knew the Olare Motorogi Conservancy incredibly well and seemed to anticipate where the animals would go. His quiet enthusiasm for wildlife was infectious. The guiding at the next camp, Entim in the Mara Reserve, felt disappointing by comparison after our time with him. We came for our first wedding anniversary, and the camp made it unforgettable. They arranged a private dinner in the bush beneath an amazing Milky Way, then brought us cake and a beautiful Maasai dance. We’ll always remember that thoughtfulness. We also appreciated what Mahali Mzuri means to the local Maasai community. The staff were clearly proud and happy to work there, and it mattered to us that the camp values its people and supports local villages. The entire staff is Maasai. We also liked seeing the organic garden supplying the kitchen and the effort to reduce the camp’s environmental footprint. The recent renovations have made the camp even more comfortable and elegant. Air conditioning was a welcome surprise in the heat, and the heated pool was a lovely place to relax. The views and wildlife were incredible, too. Meals were exceptional, on par with high-end restaurants in the States. Chef Eddie makes bread on site, and I was impressed by his range and skill. Dennis made masterful drinks, especially espresso martinis that were better than any I’ve had in New York City. This felt like more than a luxury safari. We can’t wait to come back.

INCREDIBLE place. We had a great time with all the activities beyond the game drives. Highly recommend!
