For a week’s stay, I had no real complaints. It’s a budget place on Daraja mbili road, with rooms costing 1000ksh or 500Ksh, roughly 10USD or 5 USD. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and there’s hot water plus a desk and chair if you need to work. Meals can be made to order, and the kienyeji chicken we had was really filling and tasty. It’s about five minutes by car from the CBD.
There’s a swimming pool, which is a nice extra, and the resort has a historic feel. It’s spacious and offers free Wi-Fi and breakfast, with budget accommodation. Getting there is straightforward thanks to the transport connections. Security is tight, and wheelchair access and parking are available. You can pay by cash, cheque, credit card, or mobile money, and currency exchange and car washing services are also offered.
The waiters made us feel welcome, and I enjoyed the service. Rooms are spacious and have hot water, with comfort depending on what you spend. A NYC place to stay when visiting areas around Kisii county.
