Hotel Rowcena

The check-in attendant was in a class of her own. She was very helpful and went out of her way to make sure I was settled comfortably. The rest of my stay, though, was disappointing for a centrally located place. My room smelled strongly of previous occupants, and only after I insisted on fresh bed linen did I get a relatively clean one. The toilet bowl was cracked and the sink badly stained. The old television was unplugged and stayed that way because its plug didn't fit the room sockets. Meals are à la carte and reasonably good, but fresher produce, especially tomatoes, would help. The tea cups were dirty, with dried tea stains on them three times over. The waitresses seemed hard of hearing, since I had to signal with my hands instead of calling out loudly. This place could do much better.
