The staff are a real credit to the place. There are plenty of them, they’re cheerful, and they greet you with a smile and “Jambo.” The gardens are lovely too, with monkeys around, but be sure to lock your patio or balcony doors. Some parts feel worn and could use paint, a deep clean, or a repair. The reception, one of the bars, and the seldom-used smoking area have great views. The restaurant serves an excellent buffet, though UK visitors won’t find chips or chicken nuggets, thankfully. The biggest downside is the beach sellers and people who pester you. On the private section they have to leave you alone, but once your little toe touches the public beach, you’re fair game to the official tour and safari sellers, gift sellers, and local vendors. Having them stand and stare while you’re on the beach beds feels intimidating, though security and armed police are there for some protection. The spa is lovely, and the staff and prices are reasonable compared with European spas. I loved my time here and didn’t want to leave despite the faults. I’d recommend it if you don’t expect five-star standards and can firmly say “No” to the sellers.

The grounds and beachfront are beautiful, and the staff are warm, friendly, and clearly work hard. We spent six nights at Leopard Beach Resort & Spa on an all-inclusive stay, but the package didn’t quite meet our expectations. The food was decent, but the all-inclusive options felt limited and inconsistent. The snack bar menu advertised more than all-inclusive guests could actually get, so it didn’t always feel like everything was included. Around the pool, bar service to sunbeds seemed much more attentive for people ordering and paying directly. Those of us on the package often had to go to the bar ourselves. It gave the impression that tips sometimes mattered more than giving everyone the same level of service. There’s a lot going for the resort, including its relaxing atmosphere, location, and lovely staff. The all-inclusive experience needs work so it matches expectations and all guests feel equally valued.

We stopped by to look around and ask whether day visitors could use the facilities. The grounds and services are extensive and well kept. Entry for day guests costs Kes 2500, which can be spent on food and drinks. Visitors can use the pool and small private beach and enjoy the facilities and atmosphere.

The staff were friendly and always smiling, and they were happy to help with anything. The hotel is good, but could use some cosmetic repairs. There was a coffee machine in our room, but they never supplied any capsules, and there was no chicken at dinner. We asked for a late check-out until 6:00 PM, which cost us $100.
