Kivuli Villas

When I arrived, the host tried to put me in a one-bedroom room, even though I’d booked one with a balcony and a fully equipped kitchen and bath. There wasn’t even hot water in the shower.

The three days at Kivuli villas were absolutely amazing. The housekeeper was quick to help whenever we needed anything, and we got to meet the hosts, who are lovely and hospitable. We had so much fun with them around. Kivuli is now my go-to Villa whenever I’m in Diani, and I’d definitely recommend it to my friends. Thank you so much, Kivulivillas 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Our New Year's Eve 2024/25 trip to Diani turned into a disaster after we booked Kivulu Villas through Booking.com. When we arrived, they said they had no record of our reservation, despite the confirmation we’d received. It was clear they had no proper booking system. The owner had gone to Switzerland and left an inexperienced 18-year-old in charge. After some confusion we were put in a family room, then two hours later told another family had supposedly booked the same room. We showed our confirmation and explained that our group of five adults and a baby had booked months earlier, when finding another place during peak season would be nearly impossible. The young man didn’t know what to do, so he called the owner in Switzerland. The owner was rude and disrespectful, shouting at us on the phone. He said the other family had already paid, so we had to leave, even though Booking.com’s policy was to pay on arrival. We even offered to pay immediately. We were kicked out with nowhere to go and had to scramble to find somewhere else for five nights at the busiest time of year. It was a horrible, stressful experience. I strongly advise against booking Kivulu Villas unless you’re willing to risk your holiday being ruined by incompetence, poor management and unprofessionalism. Avoid at all costs! 🚨

The hosts are great, and my friends and I had such an amazing time there. It’s a wonderful place, and I’d love to come back.
