We stopped for lunch on the way from Mombasa to Watamu and sat by the water, with beautiful views. Service took a long time and the food wasn't much to write home about. I'd suggest going for drinks to enjoy the scenery, but skip the food unless you're starving.

The beach was stunning, and I loved seeing how different it looked each day. Swimming there was among the best I've ever done. One of my favorite moments was getting up early and swimming alone at sunrise. The pool area was fantastic too, and the beautiful reception felt a bit magical when I walked in. Everyone on staff was a gentle soul, from security to the servers. They were kind and helpful, and Francisco deserves a special shoutout for going out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. The chefs are incredibly talented. Every meal was great, especially the insanely good buffet each night. I would've liked more Swahili dishes, but they made a plan for us on the last night, which I really appreciated. I loved the Oceanfront Room. I wish there hadn't been a wall between me and the ocean, though it did make me feel safe, so that was a small trade-off. My only real criticism was the room size, which felt quite small and a little claustrophobic at times for the price. Service at the beach bar could also be a bit slow, though it was manageable. It was a really special stay, and I'd definitely recommend the experience.

I had the best time here on vacation. It's a great place to stay and relax, and the service is amazing. Everyone's so friendly. I'd highly recommend taking an ocean view room, it's beautiful waking up to the ocean.

Breakfast made up for the rough start, and the Indian Ocean view and stretch of white sand are lovely. We got there at 10 pm after a long, tiring drive from Nairobi, but the restaurant had closed and we were told all the chefs were away. We were hungry and stuck, so they managed to put together bread and black tea, the best they could offer then. For a place like this, that was disappointing. Get there early, before the restaurant shuts.

The food was tasty and there were plenty of choices each day. Our room was clean and good, and the service was right on point. The staff were so nice and helpful with everything. We had an amazing stay in Kilifi and highly recommend this hotel.
