Mutara Camp

I enjoyed every day of my stay at Jambo Mutara. The camps were luxurious, clean, neat, and spacious, and the beds had warmers. The staff were lovely, always smiling, kind, polite, thoughtful, and playful with the kids. Asanteni sana team Jambo Mutara. ❤️

We arrived around lunchtime and were seated in the dining area, where we could look down into the valley and see a herd of giraffes welcoming us. The food was excellent, with original dishes, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. I’m a picky eater, and I was impressed. The staff to guest ratio was high, and the service was excellent, with staff anticipating what you might need. I also tried a 60-minute massage, and as someone who loves massages, I can honestly say they did a superb job.

The tent was spacious and felt homey despite being out in the bush. We spent each night on the balcony with tea, watching animals visit the watering hole, listening to lions, and looking at the stars. The staff were excellent, especially Hillary, Abigail, Christine, Rahma, and sakina. The chef made wonderful soups and fish meals every day for my gluten-free daughter and our pescatarian group, including dishes that weren’t on the menu. I can’t say enough about the chef and staff. Just amazing, six stars if I could.

After seeing elephants, giraffes, and the remaining northern white rhinos at Ol Pajeta, we’d return to camp for delicious food, hot showers, and a refreshing drink. The tents are luxurious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to keep you happy. Christine deserves a special shout-out. We also went on an epic lion tracking adventure, and one evening had a sundowner by a fire with a full bar and bartender. Love this place!
