Jamala Guesthouse Lamu

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was spacious enough and the toilets were clean, and the staff were kind and very friendly. There’s a lovely atmosphere, with a cool feel from the trees, and it’s close to the seafront.

A really comfortable place to stay while you're in Lamu.

Paying with dollars gave us a lot of trouble, so I'd stick to local currency. We picked Jamala over the many options in Shella and Lamu town, and didn't regret it. It’s clean and an interesting, pleasant place, with a great location, cozy beds, a shower that works perfectly, and a good breakfast. After a day in Lamu, it has everything you need.

The old Town setting gives you the full Lamu experience, and the house is beautiful, easily the best-looking place we stayed in Kenya. It’s very clean, has a great shower, a ceiling fan, WiFi now, and a really good breakfast. You can also cook for yourself. Baji picked us up from the airport and took us straight to Jamala house, which was great service. The staff were friendly, considerate, and chatty, and made us feel at home the whole time. I'll definitely stay at the Jamala guesthouse again when I'm back in lamu.
