The CBD location was the main reason I paid 2500 for a night here. I needed somewhere to stay late one evening when I couldn't get home, and being able to book ahead on their website was handy. But the cleanliness fell short. The bedspread was stained and looked cream instead of white, the pillows smelled unpleasant and were dirty even under their cases, and the towel was worn out. Cleaner or newer bedding would make a big difference. There’s also a bar nearby, and its noise makes it hard to rest if that’s what you’re hoping to do.

For 2,500 a night, the deluxe room includes breakfast, and I found the receptionists courteous and helpful. The hotel feels clean and quiet for somewhere in the CBD. Rooms are on floors five through seven, so there’s no noise from Tom Mboya Street, and the lift was working well.

The rooftop restaurant and bar has lovely skyline views, tasty food with plenty of choices, and well made drinks. There’s also a fitness center and spa with treatments to unwind after sightseeing or meetings. The hotel is modern and luxurious, with spacious, well equipped rooms, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Its central location makes getting to Nairobi’s main attractions and business centers easy. I’d recommend Diamond Hotel Nairobi for a comfortable, upscale stay, whether you’re visiting for work or leisure.

This is a budget hotel, so the facilities are what you'd expect for the price. I’ve stayed twice because of the rooms, which are very clean and well maintained, with clean towels and linen. Breakfast could use some improvement. There are plenty of places around for people who enjoy food from the subcontinent. The difficult part is getting in: it’s inside a shopping plaza, the entrance is poor, and you need to take a lift up to the hotel floor. The same hotel group is building a new hotel behind this building, designed specifically as a hotel.

I had booked here in 2016 while pregnant, and I believe the hotel staff stole from us. After my husband arrived, a laptop and a large amount of money, 120,000 Kenya shillings, were taken. CCTV reportedly showed the receptionist giving the thieves the master key and then receiving it back afterward. Other guests had also been robbed, and I believe management knew what was happening. We reported it to the police, but nothing was done. I believe the management bribed Nairobi central police, and the receptionist was released. Police said the case would go to court, but it never did. I’m furious that the hotel management and police worked together and we were never compensated for our loss. This hotel is a no go zone, book at your own risk.
