Fairmont The Norfolk

The hotel’s history is fascinating, and I found the rooms comfortable and the pool relaxing. The Tatu restaurant is worthy of five stars, the food was absolutely delicious, and Johnny is a great bartender. Thank you, Tevin, for the wonderful food service, and Rebecca for the great guest service. I felt like royalty, and the staff at the Fairmont The Norfolk felt like family. From reception onward, Christine gave me exceptional customer service throughout my stay. I really appreciated her kindness and professional manner. Thank you, Christine and Kanja, and special thanks to Heinz for managing this Fairmont property so well. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Set away from the noisy, crowded road in the middle of the city, this luxurious five-star hotel is right opposite Kenya Cultural Centre. The National Museums of Kenya and the highway are within walking distance. The concierge safely held a few bags for me, and check-in went smoothly. My room was comfortable and looked out onto a beautifully landscaped courtyard garden, which added a peaceful touch. The food at the restaurant was good, and both Room Service and Housekeeping were quite efficient. I did find the beds too soft and bouncy.

The heated pool was a lovely surprise in the cold weather, and our daughter especially enjoyed it. The historic feel of the hotel and its beautiful gardens made the stay peaceful and unique. The staff were attentive and professional, congratulations to the whole team for the excellent service. The rooms could use renovation, though. The carpets and wardrobes smelled very strong, and water leaked out of the shower enclosure and flooded the bathroom. It was a memorable stay, and some room updates could make it even better.

The breakfast was enjoyable, the bathroom and shower were good, and the robes were nice. The rooms were comfortable enough, and the location is pretty central. It felt a little old, and the Wi-Fi was spotty, so I wouldn’t count on it. Since it was New Year’s, music was still playing loudly late into the night, though I’m not sure it came from the hotel. Other than that, no complaints.
