Gigiri Express Hotel

There was a lot of foot traffic around and inside the property, with groups sitting outside the gate all day, and the location was loud. I also encountered roaches and the breakfast was bad. Two of the women on staff were trying their best, but most of the rest seemed uninterested, especially the man on the night shift. He was rude, too. I don't understand how some people give this a five-star score, unless they're rating the business itself.

The location is great, but the broken window locks and torn curtains need attention, and the amenities are seriously lacking. I left with a terrible cold, possibly from dirty cups. Whatever the budget, quality still matters. Guests shouldn't arrive healthy and leave feeling like very sick patients. This hotel could do much better.

The staff are genuinely kind and make you feel welcome, and the hotel is in one of Nairobi's loveliest areas at a reasonable price. My room had no AC, though, and the WiFi wasn't working. Apart from those issues, it's a beautiful place to stay.

Gigiri hotel is clean and the staff are helpful. For me, it's the kind of place you sleep at and go, and the breakfast was just what they'd said it would be. The main drawback was that the shower water was lukewarm most of the time. The location suited me perfectly, with a safe walking route to the workshop I was attending.
