I was here for work, and it’s a good place.

The rooms were too small, and the active bar could make things noisy at night. There was a bad smell throughout the building, rusty sinks, and none of the instant hot showers worked. It’s an old hotel in what I found to be a bad neighborhood. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to travel cheaply and don’t care about comfort or cleanliness.

The reception staff seemed very nice and kindly let us check in early. This is a very cheap place to stay close to the city center, but the area feels crowded and quite scary. Our room seemed clean, especially the linens, though there were insects and the place doesn’t look good. There was a bad smell in the building the whole time. We couldn’t get a warm shower during our two-night stay. They moved us to another room, but the water was still freezing, and Nairobi was quite cold while we were there.

The rooms were cozy, and I really liked them. But the water situation let the stay down: there was none in the evening, then in the morning the instant shower was broken. The mosquito net looked like it had been there since the 90s. Good, but they could do better.
