Sagwe Furnished Apartments

The affordable rates impressed me: a one-bedroom place starts at 2500ksh, and the apartment comes furnished with a microwave, fridge and kettle. It’s a smoke-free place, and there’s freedom to do what you like without trouble over noise or loud music. The room’s size and comfort depend on which one you choose. I did have a problem with the TV after it had been on for a few hours.

For what they cost, the rooms are nice, and someone’s put a little extra thought into the colors and details. What really meant a lot was how they handled the birthday party next door when I couldn’t sleep. They moved me to a suite at no extra charge. I was teary with gratitude. I really needed that sleep that day!

The prices are reasonable, from 2000-3500 a night, depending on whether you choose a single self-contained room, studio apartment or one-bedroom apartment. It was a little hard to find because there’s no signage around, though it’s next to Equity bank. The host who served us was patient with me even though I had her walk around the whole place. It’s a great spot.

The location is the one positive. Internet was slow, and the customer service was terrible. Nora at reception didn’t handle complaints about the internet well and didn’t seem to care whether you were staying one night or ten, or had one room or several. Staff hung around in the corridor with friends, making noise late at night. Some nights they drank and talked very loudly. Better to avoid this place.
