Three Ways Hotel & Restaurant

The restaurant on the ground floor offers a range of cuisines available in the area, and Buffalo Mall is across the road if you need to do some quick shopping. Three Ways is conveniently located by the roadside, making it a useful stop for commuters and people visiting town. Rooms are clean, Wi-Fi is available, and accommodation is fairly cheap at around $30 a night. From what I saw, long-distance travellers, including truck drivers, and people commuting in their own vehicles seem to stay here.

The TV in my room didn’t work, and the technician they said they were sending never showed up. I’d booked early, but only later realized they’d assigned me a room at the last minute. The service was poor, and I wouldn’t recommend the place or stay there again.

The rooms were fairly clean, and it was quiet enough at night for me to sleep well. Beyond that, the stay was a mess. We were told there were no double rooms, then shown one and told it was available. The same confusion happened with a single room: first unavailable, then shown to us as available. When I paid by card, I watched the staff skip through the prompts for showing and signing the receipt. Nothing printed. They tried again, and I stopped them to enter that the receipt wasn’t signed. Later, my online transactions showed two charges and one refund. The receptionist then insisted we hadn’t paid, even after I showed her the completed charge. She wouldn’t bring the manager, so we had to find him ourselves. Dinner took nearly an hour. The chicken described as steamed was greasy and very tough, and the mosquito net didn’t reach the bed. The hot shower was only a little warmer than cold. Breakfast was another problem: the waiter seemed untrained and couldn’t understand what was included, despite my trying to explain. I waited 45 minutes for the juice before giving up. We eventually asked for the second night to be refunded. The manager said he needed a bank representative to come verify payment, and that the bank was closed for about 30 minutes. I’d already called the bank about Western Union and knew it was open. The manager called them soon after I did. A terrible experience.

The rooms are very low standard, though I suppose that reflects what you pay. There’s also a strange blue light along the corridors that looks odd, especially at night. I’d only stay here if nearby hotels had no rooms.
