I usually stop here for breakfast on my way to Marsabit, after leaving Nairobi at 5:30am and getting to the hotel around 8:30am. On my last trip, though, nothing was ready at that time, including every item on the menu, so I had to find another place to eat.

The fresh breakfast is made to order and brought to you, and the meals were good. The rooms are clean, with a range to choose from; some have a bathtub and special soaps for bubbles if you want to soak. The reception service makes you feel at home, and the staff are welcoming. It’s right there when you arrive in town, with secure parking too.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and the room seemed fairly clean and was okay. The food, though, was appalling. I had chicken and chips, but there was so little chicken it probably wouldn’t fill a matchbox. There were enough bones to fill a shoebox, and the bits of chicken I did get were tough as old boots.
