There’s no car parking, though you can leave a bicycle in a room opposite reception on the second floor. The hotel was open in 2023, with affordable, basic rooms right in Nyeri’s commercial centre. There’s no restaurant or bar, but plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. The entrance is easy to miss: it’s one door behind the street sellers. It’s also close to the bus station for buses heading toward Nairobi.

Paresia hotel shut down earlier in 2022 after the difficult economic period caused by covid. Before that, it was an average in-town hotel. Parking was limited, the food was average, and the place could feel crowded at busy times. I wasn’t keen on the atmosphere, though otherwise it was a decent place.

It’s no longer a hotel. The rooms have been turned into monthly residences, and the meeting halls and washrooms are very dirty.
