The picnic lunch they packed for our full-day safari was a real standout, wholesome and well packed. The food selection at the lodge was good, the bar was well stocked, and their Dawa Drink was very well made. Staff were really nice and helpful. It’s a decent, high-standard lodge, though not luxury. Mara Sopa Lodge is outside Mara National Park, and getting in means taking a difficult road. If you stay two nights, you’ll travel that road at least four times. The lodge is large and spread out, but our room felt a bit tight for a family of four. The toilets were clean and well maintained. Weekends are best if you want to enjoy a Masai performance.

The picnic lunches they packed for our safari days made the outings extra special. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with lots of variety, and everything was fresh and well prepared. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it relaxing to return after a day out in the Mara. Service was phenomenal and personal from the moment we arrived. Everyone was warm, helpful, attentive, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend Mara Sopa Lodge.

The Sopa Lodges is inside Masai Mara Park, so the location worked well. Meals were amazing, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. The rooms were comfortable and clean, if not especially fancy, and had the basics like tea and coffee, plus warm water at the right times, though not all day. There were plenty of charging points and electricity around the clock. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights here and had a great experience. It’s a proper eco lodge, peaceful, with zebras and monkeys around. There were lots of bugs at night, so be careful. The facilities were all okay, and the buffet meals were amazing. My wife had a spa treatment that was very good value, and they accept card payments.

The staff made my stay especially good. They seem to make a point of knowing every guest and tailoring things to their needs, and Felix in the restaurant was particularly warm and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and available at all times. I genuinely had a great time. A few changes could make it better. The rooms aren’t soundproof, so I could hear people in the next room all night, and they can get stuffy, so ventilation would help. It would also be useful to have a room phone for emergencies or room service, since rooms are quite far from reception and the restaurant. A golf cart could help guests who struggle with the walk, especially older people during high season when you may not get to choose a room close by. I was also bothered by being told to sit with the group I came with, even when lots of tables were empty. I was there with clients who were a family, and that felt intrusive. I raised it with staff and they resolved it quickly, but please don’t make people sit together if they’re uncomfortable. I heard another guest complain about it too.
