Furaha House

I spent two months at Furaha House while working remotely and really enjoyed it. The house is simply furnished, but has everything needed for a comfortable stay in Shela. It’s in an incredible spot, right behind Peponi Hotel and just meters from the beach. Nyama, the housekeeper, was extremely helpful and a great cook. His fish curry is amazing. Donatella was quick to communicate and sort out any problems. The wifi was upgraded while I was there; it took a while to get running, but it works well now. I highly recommend the house and will certainly return.

The beach is only a minute’s walk away, and the balcony has an amazing view. There’s also a nice rooftop terrace for relaxing or dining. The room was nice, and Donatella was easy to communicate with. Nyama took good care of us and is a super nice guy. Beautiful place, perfect location. Highly recommended!

The hosts were friendly and very accommodating, and Nyama’s cooking was incredible. I loved the view and balcony, too. Furaha house was much better than the hotel we stayed at on our first night in Shella. It’s one of the cheapest places you can find, yet much better than a more expensive stay. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend staying here.

We stayed three nights. The room was spacious enough for a couple with large bags and two big backpacks, and everything was very clean and tidy. On arrival, there were flower petals on the bed along with welcome juice and water, which was a nice touch. We had a balcony, and the rooftop upstairs was a good place to chill. The only downside was that the wifi didn’t work in the room, so I had to go up to the roof. The manager was a very nice, helpful man, and offered to cook for us if we bought the food. It’s a 35-minute walk to Lamu.
