The support staff were very helpful, but the person claiming to be the owner or manager was rude throughout. We went with my family and had a terrible experience after asking to check out earlier than agreed. They demanded the full amount and spoke to us rudely. The rooms were hot, dirty, and too small to stay in comfortably. There was no drinking water, a basic need in such a hot place, except for one 500 ml bottle given at check-in. Customer service was very poor. Reviews going back to 2023 have raised the same complaint, and it seems nothing has been done.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but stopped by its Rooftop Restaurant for tea. The view from up there was amazing, and the staff were friendly with very good service.

We rented the top floor for a week with good friends who live in Kenya. The beds were very comfortable, and for what we paid I was very happy with the service. Breakfast was included every day and the pool was great. It was perfect. The only thing that bothered me was that Msafini was a bit hard to find in the maze of Sheila, though that's not something the hotel could fix, so it's not really a fair criticism. We loved our time there. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5, but I'm giving it 5 because it's currently at 4 stars and deserves better.

The King suite on the top floor was fantastic, with a huge private balcony and a gorgeous view over Shela to the sea. The building is beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool was gorgeous. I'm surprised by some of the other reviews because we had a wonderful stay at Msafini. The beds were comfortable. It was hot at night without AC, though the fans helped a bit. The shower was just about okay. I saw someone mention no hot water, but in 30-degree weather I couldn't imagine wanting a hot shower anyway. Breakfast was good, with delicious smoothies, fresh fruit, and different combinations of eggs, toast, and pancakes. The omelette was a bit thin and bland, and the toast was dry and cold. The pancakes looked nice, and the Swahili breakfast was interesting and pretty delicious, with coconut lentils, samosas, Swahili doughnuts, and other bits.
