Gostevoy Dom Guesthouse Jekshen

I often bring guests here as a local guide, and they’re always happy with the stay. GES House Zhekshen has a cozy, clean feel, with delicious homemade food and lovely mountain views all around. The hosts are friendly and do their best to make everyone comfortable. It’s a peaceful place to relax or include in a Kyrgyzstan itinerary. Great place to stay in Chon-Kemin, highly recommended.

The host was so kind and welcoming, even inviting us to dinner, which made the stay feel personal and warm. I was only at Guest House Jekhsen for one night, but the calm atmosphere helped me get a really good rest. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped for either a short or longer stay. I felt well looked after and would recommend it to travelers in the area.

The setting is stunning, though it takes a bit of walking to reach the real nature. The guesthouse is run by friendly people, and its very new rooms have comfortable beds and good showers. These were the most modern facilities we saw in Kyrgyzstan. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast.

The room was good but cold. Dinner was very tasty at 800 som per person, and breakfast was excellent. Still, be careful about the price. On arrival, the lady said our booked category wasn't available and offered us a better room for a little more, but wouldn't say how much more, only that it was “not much, just a tiny bit.” It was late, so although we should have left, we didn't want to start over looking for somewhere to stay. The next day she asked for 42 USD instead of the 30 USD we had originally booked for. We didn't think that was okay, especially since the unavailable room wasn't our fault. After some discussion she agreed to charge the booked price, but ending up in that kind of discussion wasn't nice.
