Altyn Bulak Lakeside Resort

The staff were really polite and helpful, and our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We also loved the clean grounds and lovely garden, with the lake only about a three minute walk away. We stayed for two days at Altyn Bulak during the May holidays and enjoyed all three meals each day, they were delicious and felt like home. We’re hoping to come back in summer.

The fruit trees in the garden added to the lovely feel of this clean place, and staying there was a real pleasure. It’s right by Lake Issyk-Kul, with access for guests who want to spend time on the beach. The rooms are set up in Kyrgyz yurts, which gives the hotel a wonderfully mystical atmosphere. Breakfast could have had more variety, but the setting is what really charmed us.

We had a lovely weekend in a comfortable tent overlooking Lake Issyk-Kul. The beach was fantastic, and you really should get in the lake and enjoy it. The rooms were clean and looked after well, and breakfast was excellent.

Sitting on the terrace with a meal or coffee and looking out at the lake was so pleasant. The courtyard is cozy, beautiful, and full of atmosphere, and there’s a conference room plus movies and cartoons every evening. It’s a small boarding house, so I didn’t expect so much to do outside, including entertainers, morning exercises, discos, table tennis, and chess. It seems great for a quiet family holiday, and the food is excellent. The luxury yurt towels were dirty and had old stains. They changed them after I complained, but that still left a bad impression. The dishes and tea things were incomplete too. The pool is cold, which may suit people who like warm weather, though my children swam.
