Blue Diamond Hostel

We loved staying here. The staff, food, and facilities were all lovely, and the staff were extremely accommodating. The only issue was having to pay for the AC, which cost more than the room itself. We also had ants and bed bugs in our room, though it didn’t bother us much. We told the front desk, so I doubt it’s still a problem. I’d definitely recommend the Battambang tour shown at the front desk.

The dogs were very cute, and the location was alright. The staff were good to us when we arrived. But the room wasn’t what was described: we booked a private room with a double bed and got two singles, and they couldn’t do anything about it. One pillow had a blood stain when we checked in. We rented a bike, and when it got a flat tire the owner refused to give us another so we could carry on with our day. He accused me of breaking it and was quite rude. At checkout, I was charged for fuel. I know I used only a litre, but he charged me for three. If you want cheap, go here, but I’d avoid it if you want any quality.

The rooms were kept clean and tidy, and so were the pool area, bar, and restaurant. We enjoyed our stay, and the restaurant had some good food. It’s not a long walk to other bars and restaurants, but the road is dark, so you might feel you need a tuk tuk or bike to get around.

The pool was mickey, the prices were fair, and the young guy who served us was professional and spoke very well. He even did that after we woke him at 5:30am. I enjoyed the place, though the rooms are very basic and the food portions are small.
