Lucky hostel and guesthouse

The location is decent, with Lucky supermarket three minutes away on foot and the local market two minutes away. Tuk-tuks are nearby if you want to go farther. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and there's a kettle, but the pillows were too soft. We booked a fan room, but the 105°F heat was impossible to manage, so after one day we paid an extra $5 a day for AC. Staff are friendly and speak English. Housekeeping only happens if you ask. The bathroom has no hot water heater, just room-temperature water, and the shower isn't separated from the toilet. Bring your own soap. There's no elevator, so getting luggage up three flights of stairs can be difficult.

For my two nights, the slow Wi-Fi was acceptable, though it could be a problem on a longer stay. At $8 a night, I'm not sure there's a better option anywhere in Battambang. The rooms are amazing, with hot water, lots of space, a large comfortable bed, and a big balcony.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was huge, clean, and comfortable. Honestly, this nice hostel feels more like a hotel. I couldn't fault anything and would definitely stay again.
