Sangker Villa

The property is lush and green, and they've made their small space feel like it's in the middle of a jungle. We could pick mangoes right from our balcony. Remi and Christine are super hosts, and the villas are cozy with comfortable rooms, great food, and an amazing included breakfast. The restaurant menu is limited but affordable. I just wish the pool were bigger. Definitely recommend.

Sangker Villa turned out to be one of our favourite places we've ever stayed. Christine was so accommodating when we worried about possible flooding in Battambang. Even at the last minute, she offered to cancel our Booking.com room without a charge. I'm glad we stayed. From check-in to check-out, the place exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed with a smile, tea, and a sleepy cat. The room was pleasant, and there was a little pool for cooling off and splashing around. The poolside garden felt like an oasis, a great spot to lounge with a book. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade bread that was filling and good value at $4. They also offer a menu of food and drinks, plus quite a few ice cream flavors. The location is excellent, and the staff are fantastic.

The friendly staff enjoyed a chat, and we liked the breakfast. The pool was a welcome place to cool off after walking around the hot city center. We felt Sangker Villa's official three-star rating was fair, and we enjoyed our stay, but the rooms were dated, with cables and ducting running every which way. Our bed was a bit stiff, and mosquitoes in the room made for uncomfortable sleep. Unfortunately, neither of our transfers arranged through the villa worked out: one never arrived, and the other was 30 minutes late.

The tours and taxi transfers we booked through the hotel went perfectly. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean. It's a great little boutique hotel with a lovely pool area and bar. Breakfast was delicious. I'd highly recommend it!
