TK VIEW HOTEL and APARTMENT

I left my passport on a chair in the TK View Hotel lobby by accident when I arrived to check in on October 5th. A tuk-tuk driver came into the hotel and took it. Later that afternoon he waited outside, said he’d found it, and asked me for money to return it. I paid him 50,000 riel. When I asked the hotel to review the camera footage the next day, it showed him taking my passport, and possibly another item, though that part wasn’t clear. I’ve attached photos and a video from my own camera because the hotel footage was blurry. I’m disappointed a stranger could enter the lobby and take a guest’s belongings. I hope the hotel takes steps to stop this happening again and checks whether the driver took anything else from me.

There are plenty of amenities within walking distance, and the location is good. The place is clean, though a bit dated.

The best feature is the beautiful rooftop pool, it’s really cool. Our room was big, but the hotel feels dated and could use a refresh. The bed wasn’t as comfortable as beds elsewhere, and the rate was about $55, which felt a little high for what you get. When our AC broke, they moved us to another room quickly.

The location is good, but for what I paid I could find something much better in PP. Online the pool looks stunning and the rooms seem nice and clean, but reality was quite different. I moved the sofa and found all kinds of dirt, including cut nails; under the bed there were used plastic bottles and more dirt. The owner saves money by running only one very slow elevator. The other one is reserved for “special events” 😀. Hot water is only available in the shower, while the sinks have cold water only. I paid for four people, but there were kitchen utensils for just two, and it was really hard to get more. The bathroom flooded after showers because the drain didn’t work. I asked to have it fixed, but they never did. For my one-month stay, no washing machine was provided until I asked for one.
