The staff were among the best I’ve experienced, always ready to help. They even brought sweet treats each night, and were quick to respond on WhatsApp. They can arrange airport rides and trips to the pepper farm. It was very quiet during our visit, with only a few other guests. Our room was spacious and nice, and the hotel has a relaxed, elegant feel. The clean infinity pool looks out over the river. The restaurant was great, with the same lunch and dinner menus. We tried all the chicken dishes, and they let us swap chicken into the fish pasta. Portions were good. The vegetable cake with sweet potato was especially good, and the bread came with Kampot pepper butter. Breakfast is made to order. We had an egg white omelette, quinoa salad with soy milk and fruit, avocado, chicken noodles, and a fruit platter. The pancakes and sesame balls were delicious too. The gym is small, which is fine for a small resort. Turn on the AC five minutes before a workout and it cools down quickly. Highly recommend.

The personal service made this stay stand out. The General Manager took time to talk with us, and the F&B Manager was warm and professional. The restaurant was excellent too: every meal felt carefully prepared and presented, and the attentive, well-trained team clearly cared about giving guests a great dining experience. The hotel is in the upper segment, yet offered very good value for money. Its architecture, interiors, and overall design are carefully put together. The place feels elegant and welcoming without being pretentious. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would return without hesitation. I don’t understand why so many travelers cancelled trips to Cambodia in January 2026. The political tensions with Thailand have subsided, the border is extremely far away, and daily life here feels calm and safe. Cambodia depends heavily on tourism, and its people are among the kindest and most genuine in Asia: warm, welcoming, and never intrusive. For anyone thinking of visiting, this hotel is a remarkable place to stay and a lovely way to experience Cambodian hospitality.

What made our stay at Amber memorable was the staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they went above and beyond for us. The villas were incredible, with everything we needed, including a private pool and an outdoor bath. We loved relaxing on the beds beside the peaceful pool overlooking the river. It felt far from the bustle, even though the free boat service gets you to town in just a couple of minutes.
