Good Morning Kampot

That $3 "toast omelet" was just an egg inside soft bread, with no vegetables or anything else. I couldn't finish it. When I asked for the bill, I pointed out to the waiter that it wasn't toast, just soft bread with an egg in it. He could see I hadn't eaten, but didn't seem to care. How is $3 supposed to be worth nothing in Cambodia? I remember visiting before, when a large, hot meal cost $2.50. A lot of restaurants like this seem to be charging more for less food. Maybe they're starting to look down on tourists and think we're stupid? This felt like a joke at tourists' expense. Don't support businesses like this. We're in Asia, not Europe. Three dollars should go a long way here, that's why we visit in the first place.

I didn't stay there myself, but a friend did. Food was reasonably priced and the menu was okay, and drinks were fairly priced too. There's a great choice of other restaurants nearby as well. It's close to the beach and promenade, though being right beside a very busy road makes the area quite noisy.

My booking through booking.com guaranteed a view, but when I arrived I was told I could only have a room with no window. The room smelled bad, had small cockroaches in the bathroom, and was very noisy.

We spent three nights there. The location was excellent, but don't count on hot water or cleaning service. The bedding was too small for the bed, so we basically slept on the dirty bed.
