VIBOLA Guesthouse

The floors were filthy enough that my feet turned black just walking around the room. There was no fridge or hot water kettle, and the shower didn’t work, so I had to use the bum gun to wash. You can also see straight into the room opposite across the pool because the two buildings are so close together. I wouldn’t recommend this guesthouse.

The pool is nice, but the place has gone downhill since my last visit. I got no water in the room, and the walls there were dirty and badly in need of paint. You get what you pay for.

For the low price, the room was decent enough, and the free water was handy. The mattress was definitely very old, though the stay was okay overall. Wi-Fi was so-so. If you need a perfectly clean room, you’re better off paying more.

The reception guy was pleasant and the location is hard to beat if you want to be right in the centre. But the room itself was awful because of the smell. The toilet smelled like a public urinal, and the aircon smelled bad too. I didn’t notice it much at first, but it became worse the longer I stayed. I slept one night with the aircon off and patio doors wide open, then left. With a little effort this could be a great place, but it needs an overhaul. I wouldn’t stay again, or would inspect the room much more carefully if I did.
